「Football Saved My Life」と「Ringleaders Football Club」のカプセルのコラボレーション。謎に包まれたアマチュアサッカークラブ「Ringleaders」に関する初の単行本です。 このプロジェクトは、当初ギルダス・メサン・アウイェが自身の写真アーカイブを整理するために始めたもので、それ以上のものではありませんでした。しかし、ハードディスクを調べ、写真を整理しているうちに、「一冊の本」にまとめたいと思うようになりました。その本は、Soccerplexでビールを飲みながら、チームメイトと共有するつもりでした。 この本の編集作業には、ひとつのルールがありました。期待せず、期限を設けず、プレッシャーもかけない。このプロジェクトは、開発するのに必要な時間をかける。そして、「やってみたい」と思ったときだけ、作業をする。 それから約4年、このプロジェクトは雪だるま式に増えていったと言えるでしょう。チームメイトのための写真集から始まったこのプロジェクトは、300ページのハードカバー本となり、The Ringleaders Football Clubを紹介することになりました。 この本に掲載されている厳選された写真は、8年間にわたって撮影されたもので、火曜夜のピックアップからサンデーリーグ、フットサル、アートショー、パーティー、旅行など、Ringleadersの世界に浸ることができます。 本書は、写真日記という形で、アーティストがRingleadersとして歩んできた道のりを綴ったものです。その過程で出会った人々や、サッカーを愛するがゆえに旅した場所にスポットを当てています。フットボールの物語であると同時に、それ以上のものでもある。アマチュア・フットボール・クラブが彼の人生を救ったという物語なのです。 "Football Saved My Life" and Ringleaders Football Club capsule collaboration; "The very first monograph on the Ringleaders, the enigmatic amateur football club. The project initially started as a way for Gildas Messan Awuye to organize his photo archive - nothing more.
